What?
Rumah Mambawang is a podcast mini-series created by four University of Nottingham Malaysia students, exploring superstitions in historical and modern contexts.

Why Rumah Membawang?
In the literal sense, 'Rumah Membawang' is Malay slang for 'gossiping house'. Rumah meaning 'house' and 'membawang' being a slang term for 'gossiping'. Rumour has it, when makciks (auntys) would gather to cook for a feast, they would gossip with each other whilst peeling bawang (onions) - hence Rumah Membawang.
But no, our podcast isn't about onions.
Izzah will act as your makcik through this podcast, and membawang away, uncovering the truth about her family history - looking at some strange superstitions along the way.
